SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and electric power engineering for the installation of a rod lightning receiver on a typical support of overhead power lines. In the first variant of the method, a collapsible device is used, including two horizontally elongated bearing parts with a U-shaped profile, which perform the function of fastening to the support of overhead power lines. One of the bearing parts has a removable clamp for fixing the rod structure in a vertical position, which is attached to the bearing part by means of a bolted connection and is made in the form of an arcuate bent bracket with ears. First, on the upper part on opposite sides of the support (rack), two bearing parts of the collapsible device are placed, which have a U-shaped profile and are arranged in such a way that the base of the U-shaped profile is located with a gap to the height of the profile racks from the support surface. Then, the bearing parts of the collapsible device are pulled together to secure the rod structures to each other with fasteners and fixed on the support (rack). After that, a rod lightning receiver is installed between the removable clamp and the bearing part of the bracket, to which the removable clamp is attached by means of a bolted connection. Then, by tightening the bolted connection, by means of which the removable clamp is attached to the supporting part of the collapsible device for fixing the rod structures, the rod structure is fixed in a vertical position. According to the second variant of the method, a fixed part of the clamp for fixing the rod structure is attached to one of the bearing parts by welding, connected to another removable part of the clamp by means of a bolted connection. The rod of the lightning receiver is installed between the removable and fixed parts of the clamp. Then, the rod of the lightning receiver is fixed in a vertical position by tightening the bolted connection connecting the two parts of the clamp.

EFFECT: provision of reliable fixation in the vertical position of the rod lightning receiver with a length of up to 7 meters on standard supports of power lines using a simple collapsible device with the possibility, if necessary, of dismantling it without additional costs, for reuse in the future.
