FIELD: foundry engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of die-casting includes pouring of melted metal into a working chamber (2) connected by a channel (4) with a press die (3), supply of compressed gas to the working chamber and recession of the melted metal into the press die under the gas pressure. The melted metal is poured into the working chamber with the closed channel. The top part of the working chamber is filled with compressed inactive gas and the gas is then subject to pressure at constant volume. The gas is heated by the heat exchange with the melted metal. The increase in temperature of the gas is accompanied by the raising pressure. Upon reaching of a certain value of the gas pressure the valve (5) is opened and the working chamber is communicated with the press die. Under the gas pressure the melted metal is receding from the working chamber into the press die. After the press die is filled and the crystallization process of the metal therein is complete the compressed gas is released from the working chamber, the channel is closed with the valve and the detail is removed from the press die.
EFFECT: broadening of technological possibilities of die casting under gas pressure is achieved.
