FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used when powering the excitation windings of generators, controlled reactors, electromagnets. To increase reliability, the serviceability of each thyristor connected in series in the bridge arms is monitored and when the number of damaged thyristors of a given value in one of the bridge arms is exceeded, the rectifier is turned off, but the second, smaller, permissible number of damaged ones is installed upon reaching which control pulses are removed from this shoulder.
EFFECT: invention performs its functions effectively.
