FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and namely to the production of permanent magnets from sintered powders based on intermetallic compositions of rare earth and transition metals. The powder is pressed in an orienting magnetic field with the minimum required specific pressing force directed perpendicular to the field with the formation of a large-sized workpiece. The workpiece is placed in an evacuated polymer shell and undergoes cold isostatic pressing. After that, the workpiece is freed from the polymer shell in an inert gas atmosphere and cut with a razor tool to a given standard size and then sintering and heat treatment are carried out.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in productivity and a decrease in material loss in the production of rare earth magnets of small and medium sizes.
