SUBSTANCE: proposed disposable sanitary article contains a liquid-permeable topsheet, a liquid-impermeable backsheet and an absorbent core, flexible side flaps located on opposite sides of the absorbent core for attaching the product to the garment, and side liquid barriers located substantially along the longitudinal the edges of the absorbent core. Each of the flexible side flaps comprises at least a side layer that is attached to the topsheet by means of a seam, the seam separating the side layer into a first part and a second part, this first part extending from the seam towards the longitudinal central axis and the second part extends from the seam aside from the specified longitudinal center axis. These first parts form lateral liquid barriers.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of absorbing and barring the liquid.
