SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of control and measuring equipment for determining the type of medium, in particular the type of polymer media. The device for determining the elastic-viscous and viscous medium consists of two coaxial cylinders having rotation, between which there is polymer resin, while the outer cylinder has a device that sets a rotational oscillatory motion with a certain amplitude and a certain frequency, the inner cylinder is suspended on a cylindrical tube, one end of which is connected to the cylinder, and the other end is connected to the stationary body of the device, the cylindrical tube is a cylindrical spring during torsional vibrations of the inner cylinder, the inner cylinder has a device that registers the oscillation process of the cylinder, the amplitude, frequency and resonant frequency, which determines whether the medium belongs to an elastic-viscous medium, the absence of resonance of the inner cylinder indicates that the resin belongs to a viscous medium.
EFFECT: capability to determine the elastic-viscous medium and the viscous medium.
