FIELD: treatment of water.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to water purification, namely to an apparatus and method of pressure water aeration for oxidation of water-dissolved iron to a trivalent state. The apparatus comprises an aeration column, an air compressor, a system of pipelines, fixtures and control elements, and a reactor located between the aeration column and the filter precipitating oxidised iron particles, made in form of a container with two cavities separated by an elastic partition, equipped with magnetic detectors and a water flow control system. A compartment is made in the lower part of the aeration column with a mixing and aeration unit located therein constituting an open chamber formed by two parallel and opposing disks fixed at the ends of the water pipes and the inner surface of an annular air nozzle covering the peripheral sections of both disks and constituting the terminal element of the air duct from the compressor, and an extension pipeline of coaxially positioned pipes is mounted within the main cavity of the column communicating with the compartment. The method includes supplying an air jet to the liquid layer, dispersing the liquid by submerged liquid jets covering the liquid from above and below, wherein the water pipes of the water jet are directed towards each other coaxially in an open chamber, and the annular air nozzle directs multiple thin dispersed air jets towards the water flow spreading from the center of the chamber, followed by directing the water with the air dissolved therein through the extension pipe and directing the water flow into the reactor.

EFFECT: inventions provide improved water quality, reduced costs and sustainability.
