FIELD: rolling of metal.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of pipe rolling manufacture and can be used in controlling a stretch-reducing pipe-rolling mill. The method includes at least one measurement of thickness of the end wall of a stretched pipe on the outlet side of the mill and controlling at least one mill engine ensuring automatic adaptation of rotational speed of at least one engine to the measured wall thickness and corresponding adjustment of the thickness of the end wall of the pipe. The course of change in the rotational speed in time of said at least one engine is therein additionally automatically adapted to the measured values of the pipe wall thickness.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows improving quality of the finished product and reducing the output losses thereof.
