FIELD: computer technologies.
SUBSTANCE: method for measuring speech intelligibility provides for sequential measurement of the Lci speech signal levels and LMi noise levels for each octave band within the audible speech spectrum, as well as calculating the signal-to-noise ratio, where the values of the probability of hearing speech sounds for all octave bands are taken into account for calculating speech intelligibility, based on the normal distribution of a random variable, the probability of hearing speech sounds in each combination of octave bands, which make up a complete group of events, subject to the occurrence of events in which the octave bands may or may not participate in the calculations. The method is carried out using the product of the probability of hearing speech sounds in all combinations P(Aj) by the probability of correct recognition of all words of the text, taking into account the audibility of speech sounds in all combinations P(W | Aj).
EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of measuring the level of speech intelligibility.
