FIELD: pneumatic signal amplifiers.
SUBSTANCE: methods and device for conducting performance tests of a pneumatic signal amplifier are disclosed. In response to the test initiation signal, the valve controller processor, which is functionally connected to the pneumatic signal amplifier, supplies the control fluid under pressure to the inlet of the pneumatic signal amplifier. The processor determines the first pressure value corresponding to the input pressure of the control fluid under pressure at the inlet of the pneumatic signal amplifier, and then determines the second pressure value corresponding to the output pressure of the control fluid under pressure at the outlet of the pneumatic signal amplifier. The processor determines the value of the ratio between the first and second pressure values and determines whether the ratio value meets the threshold value. In response to determining that the ratio value meets the threshold value, the processor generates a notification indicating that the pneumatic signal amplifier is functioning. A distinctive feature of the claimed solution is the introduction of an amplifier input pressure sensor and an amplifier output pressure sensor into the valve controller, which are functionally connected to the input and output of the amplifier, respectively.
EFFECT: capability to test the pneumatic signal amplifier of the valve system without decommissioning the pneumatic signal amplifier and/or the valve.
