SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil industry. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for detecting solids-discharge zones in a well carried by a liquid and gas flow when the interval of solids discharge is behind a particle-impermeable barrier and there is no direct contact of a measuring device with solids. Disclosed is a method for detecting zones of solids discharge in a well based on the recognition of impacts of solids against a barrier separating a source of solids from the measuring device. The method includes the following steps. At least one operating mode of the well is set and is characterized by the presence of a fluid flow with solid particles along the wellbore and in one or more formations. At least one device for objective measurement of the amplitude of the acoustic signal generated by the collision of solid particles on the barrier is run in or raised inside the barrier along the well at a constant speed or with stops. The amplitude of the acoustic signal in the well is measured while stopping or during the descent or ascent inside the barrier along the well with at least one device for objective measurement of the amplitude of the acoustic signal. The measurement data of the amplitude of the acoustic signal in the well are processed while detecting bursts of amplitude in the recorded acoustic signal. At each depth, the burst shape obtained during the measurements is compared with the reference one, and only those bursts that correspond to impacts of solid particles are recognized, the amount of solid particles is identified, and a zone with the discharge of solid particles into the well is detected.

EFFECT: use of the invention improves the reliability of determining the presence of solid particles in the well.
