SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of computer learning technologies and can be used in the activities of educational organizations to provide users with online simulators for developing speed reading skills. A method for the computerized development of the user's speed reading skills is disclosed. The method includes steps for prompting a user to perform exercises using the user device, each exercise being generated automatically based on an exercise sample received from a server and an exercise configuration set for the user. Using the server, the saved results are compared with the criteria for the success of skills development; the configuration of each exercise is corrected, taking into account the achievement of the criteria for the success of the development of skills in such a way that the adjusted configurations of the exercises are aimed at strengthening those user skills that turned out to be less developed when comparing the saved results. Then, the operations of the method are repeated, starting with prompting the user to perform exercises for developing speed reading skills, and the adjusted configurations for these exercises are used as exercise configurations.
