FIELD: feed production.
SUBSTANCE: claimed group of inventions relates to feed production, in particular to the composition of a preservative for feed and animal additives, the method for its production and application. The composition of the preservative for animal feed and additives contains a mixture formed from thymol, benzoic acid or its salt with an alkaline or alkaline earth metal, citric acid or its salt with an alkaline or alkaline earth metal. The use of this composition is aimed at reducing or preventing the development and/or proliferation of pathogenic bacteria and/or fungi in feed and/or premixes for feeding animals with a single-chamber stomach.
EFFECT: use of a group of inventions will effectively suppress the growth of pathogenic bacteria in animal feed or premixes.
