FIELD: car industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used for determining the degree of contamination of motor oils. The device for determining the degree of contamination of motor oils by ultrasonic interferometer contains a chamber with the liquid under study, a piston, a unit of signal excitation and receiving and data registration and processing, and a vibration converter installed inside the chamber forming measuring cell with a variable base. The measuring cell with a variable acoustic base with the liquid under study is made in the form of a hollow cylinder, in the lower base of which a piezoelectric disk emitter of ultrasound waves is coaxially mounted, which is connected to a generator of high-frequency pulses, which is controlled with a generator of rectangular pulses. The piston-reflector is made in the form of a movable cylindrical waveguide moving coaxially and performing a function of ultrasound delay line, which, through a vertical movement mechanism formed with a gear-screw gearbox, is actuated with a reverse micro-electromotor. The waveguide is additionally equipped with a piezoelectric receiver of ultrasound waves fixed on the upper base of the waveguide, which, through a high-frequency amplifier, is connected to an electronic oscilloscope and an acoustic pulses selector, which is controlled with a pulse delay unit. The selector output, through a pick detector and Schmidt trigger, is connected to a pulse counter, which, through a motor control unit, controls the operation of the gear-screw gearbox.

EFFECT: expansion of the class of oils under study and an increase in the degree of determining relative contamination with mechanical impurities and insoluble products of combustion of motor oil selected from crankcase of the internal combustion engine in continuous mode of its operation.
