FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in composite compression piston rings of internal combustion engines. Gas sealing of cylinder-and-piston group of internal combustion engine includes main compression and additional split rings (3) and (4) installed in annular groove (14) of arranged in cylinder (1) of piston (2) between its top and bottom ends. Main compression ring (3) is placed inside additional ring (4) of -shaped section between its upper and lower annular flanges. Top and bottom annular flanges adjoin respectively upper and lower ends (12) and (13) of groove (14). Top and bottom circular flanges are interconnected by lateral cylindrical plate pressed to internal cylindrical surface of main compression ring (3). Annular flanges are directed from side cylindrical plate to cylinder surface of engine cylinder (1). In the upper part of the side cylindrical plate there are through slots arranged in regular intervals along its perimeter and adjoining the upper annular flange.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing service life of cylinder-piston group, reducing gas breakthrough into crankcase of engine, excluding pump action of upper compression ring and reducing consumption of engine oil.
