SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a casing unit (9) and to a monitoring instrument (1). The casing comprises a first (10) and a second fragments (11) surrounding in the assembled state (F) a part of the inner space (3) for accommodation of the monitoring instrument (4); and a fixating tool (13) for attaching the first fragment (10) to the second fragment (11) in the assembled state (F), wherein the fixating tool (13) in the fixating position (S) prevents the fragments of the casing from separating. The fixating tool (13) comprises a latching element (15) located in the first fragment (10), and a matching latching element (16) located in the second fragment (11). In the fixed position (S), the latching element (15) is engaged with one matching latching element (16), and the locking element (25) prevents disengagement of the latching element (15) and the matching latching element (16).
EFFECT: technical result is creation of reliable fixation of the fragments of the casing with each other so that interference with the monitoring instrument is prevented or hindered without destructing or damaging the casing.
