FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio engineering, particularly, to methods for determining the characteristics of antennas of navigation spacecrafts (NSCs). The technical result is achieved by the fact that the proposed method for determining the shape of the amplitude direction pattern of a navigation spacecraft antenna system consists in measuring the power of the navigation signal with large-aperture antenna systems and the attenuation of the navigation signal along the propagation path at several points, combined processing thereof and compensating for signal attenuation along the path, determining the angle of the spacecraft relative to the large-aperture antennas, transforming the antenna coordinates into a local coordinate system associated with the centre of mass of the spacecraft, constructing curvilinear sections of the direction pattern of the spacecraft antenna system and two-dimensional interpolation thereof.
EFFECT: evaluation of the shape of the amplitude direction pattern of the antenna apparatus of the NSC allowing to consider the components of the measurement error arising under observation by one antenna and variation in the parameters of the signal propagation path.
