SUBSTANCE: buttstock of adjustable length assembly includes a base that is connected to the weapon, a movable butt plate, with which the buttstock assembly is adjusted in length, a lock with a hinge-lever mechanism. The buttstock contains an adjustment limiter made with the possibility of stopping the extension of the butt plate upon reaching a predetermined length, which is set by the user considering his physique. The adjustment limiter is a wedge that wedges the stop surface to lock the buttstock assembly to a predetermined length, which automatically adjusts that length on a consistent and repeatable basis. The lock, made separately from the adjustment limiter, selectively locks the butt plate in a fixed position during or after the buttstock assembly reaches the predetermined length.
