FIELD: locking mechanisms.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pneumatic clamping chuck equipped with a locking mechanism. The clamping mechanism drives the piston in the cylinder tube using the action of compressed air and opens and closes a pair of cams using a rod connected to the piston, gripping the product as a result. The locking mechanism locks the cams in the positions of gripping the product. The locking mechanism includes the first locking element, the second locking element and the drive device. The first locking element moves when a pair of cams opens or closes. The second locking element holds the first locking element so that it locks the cams in the positions of gripping the product. The drive device relatively shifts the first locking element and the second locking element to the locking positions and non-locking positions.
EFFECT: technical result is that even when the compressed air supply is stopped, while the product is captured by a pair of cams, the fall of the product can be prevented.
