FIELD: casting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of fine ceramics based on silicate raw materials and can be used for preparing a suspension for manufacturing ceramic products for various purposes, particularly, by the method for casting from a slip. In the method for preparing a suspension for casting ceramic articles, a first lean component or a first mixture of lean components forming the crystalline phase of the ceramic is ground, a second lean component forming the vitreous phase of the ceramic is ground, according to the first variant of the invention, the first component or the first mixture of components and the second component are wet-ground separately at a water content of 12 to 35% wt. to a residue on a No. 006 sieve of less than 5%. The finished suspension is obtained by mixing the suspensions of the first and second components or the suspensions of the first mixture of components and the second component immediately prior to casting or during casting. According to the second variant of the invention, the first component or first mixture is dry-ground to a particle size of less than 150 microns. The second component is wet-ground at a water content of 25 to 45% wt. to a residue on a No. 006 sieve of less than 5%. The finished slurry is obtained by mixing the first component or the first mixture and the suspension of the second component immediately prior to casting or during casting. The finished suspension is obtained at a percentage of the first component or the first mixture of components from 50 to 80%, and of the second component from 20 to 50%.
EFFECT: improved rheological properties of the resulting suspension and the quality of the resulting preforms (dried castings) in density and strength.
