FIELD: heat exchange.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a plate heat exchanger including a set of patterned heat transfer plates interconnected by soldering or welding, wherein the patterns of the interconnected adjacent heat transfer plates respectively form a first flow path and a second flow path on opposite sides of the heat transfer plate, wherein said heat transfer plates comprise an aligned first pair of holes forming a first inlet and a first outlet, respectively, for a first fluid medium subject to distribution along said first flow path, wherein the first end plate is connected to the set of the first side edge heat transfer plate by the first hole aligned with the first inlet, and the second end plate is connected to a set of second side edge heat transfer plate by a recessed area aligned with the first inlet, wherein the second side edge heat transfer plate is formed with a contact protrusion connected and soldered or welded with the inner surface of the second end plate.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is increased mechanical strength of the structure due to reduced level of deformation in the area around the holes/passages in the second end plate, as well as simplified assembly of a traditional plate heat exchanger.
