FIELD: printing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decoration of containers (application of images to containers), more precisely to a machine for continuous, non-stop application of images servicing a line of beverage cans with selectively different design. The machine (10) for applying images to container bodies is comprised of a controller (300) containing a program stored in the memory; multiple inkjet printing heads (108) connected to the controller (300); an endless annular image transfer belt (116) containing an inner surface (128) and an opposing printing surface (132); a printing area (124); a module (200) for transporting container bodies. The module (200) for transporting container bodies is comprised of multiple press rollers (204) configured to move relative to the printing area (124). Each press roll (204) is configured to be placed inside each container body (14) from multiple generally identical, unprinted container bodies (14) subject to printing using the machine (10). Each press roll (204) of the multiple press rolls (204) is configured to transfer one container body (14) from multiple container bodies (14) to the printing area (124). Each container body of the multiple container bodies (14) is in contact with the printing surface of the endless image transfer belt (116) in the printing area (124). Each press roll (204) is configured to rotate around a corresponding central axis unique for each press roll (204).

EFFECT: technical result is increased accuracy of applying an image to the metal beverage container bodies.
