SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of mining industry and construction and can be used for drilling vertical and inclined wellbores surface mining and other drilling and blasting operations. The drilling rig contains a mast, a rotator, a support unit with a spindle, an elastic coupling, the hollow hub whereof is connected with the drilling rod by means of a spindle adapter in form of a nut, at one end whereof an internal threaded hole is located wherein the drilling rod is screwed, the opposite end of the spindle adapter is located in the internal cavity of the coupling hub and connected with the hub by means of cotters in form of circular segments installed in key grooves aligned with the coupling hub configured to transmit torque and eliminate axial displacement of the adapter relative to the coupling hub. The cage enveloping the connection is configured to eliminate radial displacement of the cotters.

EFFECT: invention provides safe initiation of drilling rods during disassembly, reduced amount of auxiliary units due to simplified junction of the drilling rod with the rotator spindle, increased reliability of the drilling rig without increase in the metal consumption thereof.
