SUBSTANCE: friction mechanism for a shock absorber contains a holder for friction linings. A friction lining is installed on the holder with a possibility of adjustment. An adjusting element is made for adjusted installation of the friction lining on the holder. The holder for friction linings is equipped with an adjusting guide rail, by means of which the adjusting element is installed with the possibility of adjustment along the adjustment direction on the holder. The holder for friction linings includes a radially oriented slot for adjusted friction lining made in the form of a window. The friction shock absorber includes the friction mechanism.
