SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of detecting changes in the medical imaging. The method for detecting changes in medical imaging includes steps in which: a difference image is formed, representing the differences in intensity between the first medical imaging and the second medical imaging, adjust the mixture model to the intensity distribution of the difference imaging to identify probability distributions that collectively model the intensity distribution, determine multiple intensity ranges as a function of multiple probability distributions, label the imaging data of the difference imaging by determining which of the multiple intensity ranges this labeled imaging data falls into.

EFFECT: improving the accuracy of automated detection of changes in medical imaging.
