Method for assessing calcification includes steps identifying a plurality of different anatomical sub-regions of cardiovascular system of a subject, searching for calcification in subareas based on intensity values of grey for voxels in image data, using predetermined thresholds for identifying calcification in subareas and generating a signal indicating one or more regions of voxels in image data, determining assessment calcification for one of subregions define relative severity for estimates calcification with different colours whatever gravity, generating mapping between relative degrees of severity and surface, specific for individual cardiovascular anatomical model and visually are specific for individual cardiovascular anatomical model using various colours, assigned degrees of severity.

EFFECT: use of invention increases degree of detail of region of interest.
