FIELD: cosmonautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ensuring the asteroid safety of the Earth by means of space technology. The method consists in the fact that observation equipment (OE) is installed on the Earth satellite (for example, the Moon or an artificial Earth satellite), thereby imparting uniform rotation on the OE with the orbital angular velocity of the satellite. The lines of view of the OE are simultaneously imparted scanning rotation from the point wherefrom a circular view of space is opened in a plane perpendicular to the orbital plane of the satellite and tangential to the outer boundary of the atmosphere of the Earth. The frequency of the rotation is synchronised with the orbital motion of the satellite so that a belt of the celestial sphere of a preset angular width is covered by each piece of the OE in a single scan.

EFFECT: providing a view of the maximum possible area of the celestial sphere using one set of OE placed on the satellite.
