FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved methods for production of amphiphilic compounds of imidazolinium, such as 1-[2-(9(Z)-octadecenoyloxy)ethyl]-2-(8(Z)-heptadecenyl)-3-(2-hydroxyethyl)imidazolinium chloride (DOTIM). Specifically, the invention relates to methods for synthesis of such compounds wherein the use of toxic reagents is eliminated, which are more economical and result in less waste than regular methods. DOTIM and similar compounds can be prepared in form of cationic liposomes suitable as chemical vectors for delivery of nucleic acids in gene therapy.
EFFECT: technical result is improved methods for production of amphiphilic compounds of imidazolinium.
