FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology. The bacterium Corynebacterium glutamicum, which is a producer of the amino acid with a branched side chain, L-valine, is proposed. The bacterium contains a mutation that represents the replacement of guanine with adenine at the -183 position in the nucleotide sequence before the start codon of the first structural ilvB gene of the ilvBNC operon. A method for obtaining L-valine is also proposed, which provides for the cultivation of this bacterium under suitable conditions until the optimal accumulation of the target product and the isolation of the target amino acid from the culture fluid.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase the yield of L-valine compared to the parent strain.
