FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for studying physical and mechanical properties of tuber crops, it can be used to determine damage to potato tubers when optimizing the potato harvester operation, as well as in selection when breeding new potato varieties intended for mechanized cultivation. The device contains a rotating bar hollow cylinder with a blade and a window, an inclined platform inside the cylinder and a mechanism for automatic control of the cylinder stroke. The inclined platform is made in form of a finger conveyor with an adjustable angle of its inclination and speed of a finger belt movement.
EFFECT: provided is possibility to assess the suitability of varieties and hybrids for mechanized harvesting at the early stages of selection and seed-growing works and to conduct targeted selection of varieties suitable for mechanized cultivation, as well as to determine the timing of combine potato harvesting to eliminate mass losses of tubers during storage.
