FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method, during normal operation of the network, an undercompensation mode is maintained, requiring a relatively low bias current value and low loss power in the active part of the reactor. By increasing the bias current, the maximum voltage of the fundamental frequency in the neutral of the network is detected, wherein the value of the bias current corresponding with the resonance is recorded upon reaching said maximum voltage. The bias current is then reduced by the determined value, the value of the neutral displacement voltage of the fundamental frequency of the network current and the phase angle thereof relative to the reference one are recorded. If these parameters fall outside the zones defined by the settings, the bias current is increased to determine a new setting and the bias current is recorded according to the configuration results. At a single-phase ground short-circuit, the resonance mode is reached, wherefor the control apparatus sets the bias current value recorded at the maximum displacement voltage, corresponding with the resonance setting.
EFFECT: increased performance speed of the process of configuration of the arc suppressing reactor.
