FIELD: railway engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway transport, in particular to the cushioning devices of railway vehicles. The device contains a housing, a pressure wedge, two friction wedges with a support plate and a spring return-retaining device. The return-retaining device is made of two coaxial cylindrical helical springs. The total compression force of the springs is no more than 1000 kN/m. The springs are made with allowances of nominal height. The allowances provide compensation for the precipitation of the springs during the initial compression of the device. The ratio of the number of working turns of the inner and outer springs is made in the range of 1.7-1.92. The stiffness of the outer spring is 650-750 kN/m. The loads and deflections of the pre-compression of the inner and outer springs are no less than 20 and 12%, respectively, of the test loads and deflections.
EFFECT: preservation of the energy intensity indicators of the spring-friction absorbing apparatus is achieved.
