SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for producing magnesium-containing ceramic proppants of medium and low density, intended for use as propping agents in production of petroleum or gas by the hydraulic formation fracturing method. The method for producing a proppant containing 5 to 35 wt%. MgO in the composition thereof includes grinding a magnesium silicate component and natural silica sand, obtaining and granulating a charge, annealing the granules. The magnesium silicate component additionally comprises 1 to 10 wt%. hydrotalcite. The time of exposure of the granules to the sintering annealing temperature equals 5 to 15 minutes. In particular, crushed stone from the Shabrovsky deposit, including hydrotalcite, is used as a magnesium silicate component.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the solubility of the proppant in acids.
