METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF CHRONIC SUBDURAL RECURRENCES WITH HEMATOMA AND HYGROM Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2755221 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurosurgery and can be used to treat recurrences of chronic subdural hematomas and hygromas. Under local anesthesia, a percutaneous puncture of a chronic subdural hematoma or hygroma is performed through the trepanation hole available after the first operation. The puncture is carried out at the point with the maximum thickness of the hematoma or hygroma tangentially to the circumference of the skull at an angle of 25-35 degrees. The puncture is performed using a disposable intravenous catheter with wings and a port. The depth of catheter advancement is controlled by an ultrasound transducer. The stiletto needle is removed. The catheter is fixed to the scalp with adhesive tape or sutures. Attach a closed external drainage system to the catheter.

EFFECT: invention allows increasing effectiveness of the treatment of recurrences of chronic subdural hematomas and hygromas, reducing brain compression and improving the recovery of lost neurological functions, reduce the number of complications and shorten the treatment time for patients by using minimally invasive neurosurgical tactics due to the combination of techniques of the claimed invention.
