SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the protection of information contained in electromagnetic fields emitted by products and/or their components and technological equipment. A method for evaluating the effectiveness of shielding the structural elements of a shielded structure includes the supply of a signal from a signal source located on one side of the structural element of the shielded structure, on the other side of which the level of the leaked signal is recorded using a receiver. The signal is transmitted and received using the transmitting and receiving antennas, respectively. Before receiving and measuring the level of the leaked signal, the receiving path is calibrated, the signal power level from the signal source is measured, and the signal attenuation in free space is theoretically calculated. When measuring the level of the leaked signal and calibration, antennas with wide and narrow radiation patterns are used as transmitting and receiving antennas.

EFFECT: creating a method that allows evaluating the compliance of any type of SS with the required shielding efficiency and ensuring the localization of places where electromagnetic fields seep.
