SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an automatic parking brake and can be used mainly in the braking system of a separate unit equipped with electro-pneumatic brakes of a railway rolling stock. The automatic parking brake of a railway vehicle contains a brake cylinder containing a piston with a rod, and a unit for fixing the brake cylinder rod. The fixation unit is located in its own housing, which is fixed on the rear cover of the brake cylinder and contains a control piston installed to form a sealed control cavity and an atmospheric cavity in the housing, and a hollow screw interacting with the brake cylinder rod. The hollow screw is made with the possibility of jamming in the event of a pressure drop in the control cavity under the action of a spring on the control piston. The rear cover of the brake cylinder is made with an elongated neck intended for fastening the body of the fixing unit.
