FIELD: processing of metals.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a coated steel strip, an automobile part made from said strip, and a method for producing a coated steel strip. The coated steel strip has a metal coating based on zinc or alloys thereof applied to at least one of the front surfaces thereof, and a coating in the form of a layer based on zinc sulphate containing at least one of the compounds selected from zinc sulphate monohydrate, zinc sulphate tetrahydrate, and zinc sulphate heptahydrate is applied to the metal coating. The layer based on zinc sulphate is therein made containing no zinc hydroxysulphate, free water molecules, and free hydroxyl groups. The surface density of sulphur in the layer based on zinc sulphate is greater than or equal to 0.5 mg/m².

EFFECT: production of a layer based on zinc sulphate on the processed surface, characterised by good adhesion relative to epoxy adhesives, while maintaining other properties of the initial layer based on zinc hydroxysulphate.
