FIELD: pipelines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transportation and can be used in construction of pipelines for suppressing vibration thereof. The vibration suppression apparatus is comprised a fixed link installed on the pipeline and movable links hingedly connected thereto, in combination constituting a multi-link hollow movable joint installed on the outer surface of the pipeline. All links are tightened with steel rods through holes located radially thereon, thereby changing the rigidity of the pipeline. Due to the amount of moving links, limited by the length of the pipeline section subject to vibration, the weight characteristics, and thus the frequency characteristics of the pipeline are changed, in combination resulting in suppression of pipeline vibration.
EFFECT: reduction in the vibration levels in the cross-section of the pipeline, and a reduction in the vibration level in the longitudinal direction is also possible due to the changes in the frequency characteristics caused by an increase in mass; the apparatus can be used on sites with complex piping and can be installed without additional development of the pipeline and construction of additional supports.
