FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for mechanical twisting of a wire cerclage consists of a bolt with a diameter of 6 mm and a length of 75 mm with a hexagon head ground to 2 mm and two uniform slants under the head communicating with the two through holes made in the head for the ends of the cerclage wire, wherein the distance between said holes corresponds to the narrowest part of the jumper between the slants of the bolt and equals 2 mm, and a threaded coupling with a length of 17 mm put on the bolt. The end of the bolt is configured to be fixed in the drill chuck. The threaded coupling is configured to be twisted in the direction of the bolt head to fix said ends of the wire. Through holes for the ends of the cerclage wire have a diameter of 2 mm.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the effectiveness of treatment of orthopedic and traumatological patients undergoing surgery using a wire cerclage.
