FIELD: analytical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of analytical chemistry of organic compounds. A method is disclosed for the quantitative determination of the content of 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl in the air of the working area by the method of high-performance liquid chromatography, characterized by the fact that a sample of the air of the working area is taken by pulling the test air with a volume of 600 dm3 through an analytical filter from quartz microfibers, while recording the air temperature and atmospheric pressure at the time of sampling. The filter is placed in a beaker and 10 cm3 of distilled water is added. Exposure is carried out for 15 minutes. The resulting extract is filtered through a syringe filtering pad made of polytetrafluoroethylene with a pore diameter of 0.45 mcm and 1 cm3 of the filtrate is introduced into the vial of the chromatograph. The chromatogram is removed. Using the calibration graph, the content of 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl is determined in the filtered extract. Chromatography is carried out under the following conditions: mobile phase for elution: a mixture of acetonitrile and distilled water in a ratio of 15:85 volume fractions; elution mode - isocratic; the speed of movement of the eluent - 0.25 cm3/min; column oven temperature - 35°C; diode array detector - wavelength 430 nm; the retention time of 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl is 5.2 - 0.1 min.

EFFECT: provides high sensitivity and accuracy of determining the content of 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl in the air of the working area.
