SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for filling a basket of a filter holder of an espresso machine with a pre-set portion of ground coffee and for compressing a portion in a filter holder. The device for filling the basket of the filter holder of the espresso machine with the pre-set portion of ground coffee and for compressing the specified portion in the filter holder contains a frame with a front wall, as well as a support device for supporting the filter holder, protruding from the specified wall, on which the filter holder is located. The first location is provided on the specified support, and the specified filter holder is placed in it to fill the specified basket with the pre-set portion of ground coffee. The device also contains a channel containing a hole located above the specified first location made on the specified support, as well as a feeding device for feeding ground coffee and prompting the pre-set portion of ground coffee to reach the basket of the filter holder through the specified channel. The second location is provided on the specified support, and the specified filter holder with the basket is filled with the pre-set portion of ground coffee in it after its movement from the specified first location. The device additionally contains a pressing device made with the possibility of compressing ground coffee and a mechanical device for console support of the specified pressing device from the specified frame with vertical alignment above the specified second location, as well as driving means for its movement to and from the portion of ground coffee.
EFFECT: filling the basket of the filter holder for espresso machines with the pre-set portion of ground coffee, compressing the filled portion in the same device without a risk of loss of even the smallest amount of coffee powder, which forms a portion, and maintaining constant quality of the served beverage.
