FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of succinic acid ether 5-hydroxyadamantan-2-one as a means to prevent the development of cardiac arrhythmias and stabilize the functional organization of cardiomyocytes of the sinus node. Succinic acid ether 5-hydroxyadamantan-2-one has a pronounced stabilizing effect on the sinus node, does not affect the electrical excitation between cardiomyocytes of the peripheral part of the node and working atrial cardiomyocytes, which keeps these cells under the protective influence of the sinus node and protects them from possible arrhythmic effects of pathological foci of ectopic electrical activity and can be useful both in the treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias that are combined with or complicated by cerebrovascular diseases, so it is in patients with disorders of cerebral circulation, which are accompanied by a disturbed rhythm of heart contractions.
