FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of pharmacology and medicine and is intended for prevention or treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). For prevention or treatment of ARDS, alpha1-antitrypsin (AAT) is used, injected to patients in an amount of 60 to 180 mg/kg once intravenously. Also presented is a method for prevention or treatment of ARDS using alpha1-antitrypsin.
EFFECT: corrective properties of AAT are revealed, indicating the presence of a specific pharmacological effect in the preparation pertaining to alleviation of manifestations of acute respiratory distress syndrome, provides a possibility to use AAT to prevent or treat acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
