SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication systems, in particular to digital communication technologies, and can be used to transmit digital information over communication channels. A method for encoding and transmitting data over radio channels is proposed. According to the method, digital signals are emitted in the form of radio waves through an antenna unit connected to a control unit and an information source. In this case, the antenna unit is made in the form of a single antenna simulating a number of virtual antennas. For each of the digital codes to be emitted, the control unit, according to the correspondence matrix, sequentially sends to the antenna a number of binary codes, each of which has its own unique feature associated with the number of antennas, including virtual ones, and the direction of rotation of the polarization vector, and the number of codes and their order sequence unambiguously correspond to the transmitted number, while the direction of rotation of the polarization vector is conditionally simulated using one-bit binary codes "0" or "1", where the code "0" corresponds to the rotation of the polarization vector clockwise, and the code "1" - to the rotation of the polarization vector counterclockwise clockwise.

EFFECT: simplification of the antenna unit design by simulating virtual antennas using binary codes.
