SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Pharmaceutical composition for oral administration to reduce hydroperoxides of lipids in cell membranes contains 2.5–100 mg of a hydroxy-derivative of atorvastatin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and an oil comprising omega-3 fatty acid, wherein the omega-3 fatty acid contains at least 95 wt % ethyl eicosapentaenoate from all fatty acids present or at least 95 wt % ethyl docosahexaenoate from all fatty acids present. Also disclosed are a capsule for reducing hydroperoxides of lipids in cell membranes and a method of reducing hydroperoxides of lipids in cell membranes in a subject.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides low formation of lipid peroxides in cell membranes.
