FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a double four-high sheet rolling stand configured to be installed first at the beginning of a continuous finishing group of a broad-strip mill. The stand comprises a roll set of two working and two support rolls, installed in the opening of the frame, two pressure mechanisms, two pressure screws, a balancing mechanism of the upper support roll, hydraulic latches, hydraulic cylinders, guiding bars for changing the working rolls, a carriage for changing the support rolls and two load cells. The frame comprises two openings, installed in each whereof is one of said roller sets, and a vertical-stroke roller loop holder placed between the openings. The distance between the axes of the first and second roller sets is determined based on the condition of excluding grain growth after completing primary recrystallisation and is calculated by the mathematical expressions listed in the claims.
EFFECT: production hot-rolled strips with a fine homogeneous structure and improved mechanical properties is ensured as a result.
