FIELD: working of metal.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a piercing mill for rolling a workpiece over a mandrel into a hollow workpiece. The piercing mill comprises multiple working rolls, wherein each of the rolls is configured to apply a rolling force to the workpiece. The working rolls are supported in the roll stand, configured to change the deformation site between the working rolls. Hydraulic installation elements for changing the site and a control and regulation unit are provided. The control and regulation unit is connected with the hydraulic installation elements so as to allow for compensation for previously detected changes in the geometry of the deformation site and/or displacement of the deformation site, and/or the position of the working rolls in space and change therein during the rolling process due to the change of the deformation site.
EFFECT: compensation for the detected disturbing effects in rolling is provided during the rolling process.
