FIELD: immunology.
SUBSTANCE: antibody is proposed capable of specific binding to polypeptide epitope of HNL. Besides, a diagnostics composition, a diagnostics kit, a method for diagnosing a bacterial infection, a method for eliminating a bacterial infection, and a method for eliminating a viral infection are considered. A method for the confirmation of a bacterial infection, a method for the confirmation of a viral infection, a method for distinguishing between bacterial or mixed infection and viral infection, a method for eliminating an infectious disease, a method for identifying an infection type, and a device for diagnosing bacterial infections are also proposed.
EFFECT: this invention can be used in detecting specific epitopes of human neutrophil lipocalin (HNL) and diagnosing a bacterial infection.
