SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for operating transport device (1) for continuous or periodic supply of reactive, and/or hot, and/or abrasive transported material along a transportation path. Transport device (1) includes device case (3) enclosing the transport path, which has at least one inlet channel (5) for fluid to inject fluid into device case (3), at least one outlet channel (7, 9) for removing fluid from device case (3) and loading inlet channel (4) for injecting transported material into device case (3), and it is technically sealed relatively to at least one inlet channel (5) for fluid, at least one outlet channel (7, 9) for fluid and loading inlet channel (4). Fluid is injected into device case (3) through at least one inlet channel (5) for fluid, and in direction (30) of fluid flow, which is essentially parallel to direction (32) of transportation, along which transported material is moved through device case (3), is passed through device case (3) to at least one outlet channel (7, 9) for fluid. The fluid atmosphere in device case (3) is regulated in such a way that it prevents foreign fluid from entering device case (3) from an accompanying device adjacent to device case (3). The fluid pressure in device case (3) is adjusted to a set value that is higher than the pressure of foreign fluid at the moment in the adjacent device.
EFFECT: invention improves the flow rate of fluid to displace surrounding substances from the environment of transported material.
