FIELD: electrophotographic imaging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrophotographic imaging apparatus and a cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an imaging apparatus. The design of the cartridge provides a frame, a rotating, developer transferring element rotatably supported by the frame and capable of rotating around the axis L1 of the developer transferring element, a connecting element capable of rotating about the axis L2 of the connecting element, capable of transmitting a rotational force to the developer transferring element and capable of moving between (a) starting position, in which the axis L2 of the connecting member is parallel to and offset from the axis L1 of the developer transferring member, (b) a first tilted position in which the connecting member is tilted towards the developer transferring member, and (c) a second tilted position in which the connecting member is tilted toward a direction other than the direction in which the connecting member is tilted in the first tilted position. Also included in the structure of the cartridge are a first tilt adjustment notch provided on the frame configured to contact the connector such that the connector is positioned in the first tilt position, and a second tilt adjustment notch provided on the frame configured to contact the connector in such a way that the connecting element is positioned in the second inclined position. The angle formed between the axis L2 of the connecting element when the connecting element is in the first inclined position and the axis L2 of the connecting element when the connecting element is in the second inclined position is in the range from 20° to 150°.
EFFECT: creation of a cartridge detachably installed in the main assembly of the electrographic imaging apparatus, in which the developer transferring element is able to come into contact with the photosensitive element and to be separated from it, as well as in the creation of a cartridge connection element that is capable of engaging with the drive shaft of the main assembly when the cartridge is installed in the main assembly and when the developer carrying member is moved from the retracting position to the developing position.
